I'm back!

I feel extremely fortunate to have been able to spend this past year focusing on my children, at home. But now the time has come to get back to work, and I could not be more excited! I am one of the lucky few in this world who genuinely LOVES what they do for a living, and I can't wait to get back to it.

At this stage in my family's life, I will be available on a part-time basis, so I have decided to take this opportunity to specialize where my true passion lies; maternity, newborn, and baby photography.

If you, or someone you love is expecting a precious addition in 2012, please contact me at rebecca@rebeccabalfourphotography.com.

In the meantime, here are a few recent images of my son Rowan at 5 1/2 months. I know I'm biased, but is he not just the cutest thing you've ever seen?

Congratulations Cindy + Jason!

A quick sneak peak for Cindy and Jason. Thank you guys so much for having me!
Cindy made her own bouquet, entirely out of antique brooches. So beautiful!

Rowan, day 11

These will be the last of my little man's newborn photos. I can't believe the difference between photographing him at 6 and 11 days. It was a bit of a fight to get him into these poses, and we had that much less sleepy time to work with. I can't stress enough the importance of booking newborn sessions ASAP after the birth! That being said, with a little extra patience, these turned out to be some of my favourite shots. Isn't he just perfect?

Rowan, day 6

The new man in my life.

Meet baby Rowan, the newest perfect addition to my family. Born August 12th, weighing 8lbs 14oz. Here he is on day 2 of life.

A few more self portraits. Rose actually decided to cooperate and smile at the camera (for one shot anyway). It's a miracle!

Update! Before and after...

My little family is growing! Kallum, Rose, and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our second child in about 6 weeks. Which means....time for maternity photos!
I've always found self portraits very challenging, so this was an adventure for me, but a good one.
A big thank you to miss Rose for sleeping away most of the afternoon, and giving Mommy some time to do this ;).

Kendal is 2!

Here's a few more shots of my beautiful niece Kendal, who turned the big 2 this week.
